Carolina Medical Group is built around personal, relationship-based primary care. Meet Dr. David Merrell and the team helping patients feel known, supported, and cared for.
Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician
Dr. Merrell completed his residency in 2015 and has cared for patients in several clinical settings, including emergency medicine, urgent care, hospital medicine, corporate health, and family medicine.
Education and Credentials
Dr. Merrell earned a Bachelor of Science in business management and finance from Brigham Young University. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. He is board certified in family medicine and licensed by the North Carolina Medical Board.
Care Philosophy
Dr. Merrell believes in care that focuses on prevention, education, and personalized treatment. His goal is to help patients understand their options so they can make informed decisions about their health.
Outside the Practice
Outside of medicine, Dr. Merrell enjoys time with his family, DIY projects, woodworking, hiking, running, exploring, and water sports.

Registered Nurse & Practice Manager
Jen helps patients get settled in, takes vital signs, draws blood, coordinates referrals, handles medication refills, and follows up with patients. She has been a registered nurse since 1999.
Darcy Martin
Front Desk Associate
Darcy is often the first person patients speak with by phone or in person. She helps register new patients, schedule appointments, and keep visits running smoothly.
