What is Direct Primary Care?
Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a membership-based healthcare model designed to improve access to healthcare while decreasing your overall out of pocket health care cost. This is primarily done by removing insurance from services provided in our office. The cost of your visit(s) is included in your monthly membership. You do not need to change or stop your insurance policy to see our providers.

Dr. David Merrell, MD
Dr. Merrell is a board-certified family medicine physician and founder of Carolina Medical Group. He chose family medicine because it provides him the opportunity to care for entire families across a wide range of ages, needs, and conditions.
His approach is built around the concept that patients are happiest and healthier when they are empowered with information, and then given the opportunity to choose what they feel works best for them. This is best achieved through a DPC model that allows for more time to listen, examine and discuss patient concerns and available diagnostic and treatment options.
